Data security models and their relationship with users are maintained in the portal. The actual security is implemented in the SQL Server using the database security features. Once a set of security changes is made in the portal, it is necessary to replicate the changes to the SQL Server. Create or re-create the server security by accessing this function and executing a build security command.
The following changes require you to execute a build security command:
• Any change to a data security model; adding or removing tables, columns, and filters
• Associating a user with a data security model or removing an association
Note: Due to the complexity of this activity, runtimes can be lengthy. Actual runtime depends upon the number of users, data security models, and analytical modules in use.
