Add New Source to Existing Installation
Follow these steps to install a new source system if you have been running your system for some time:
1
Create a ODBC DSN for your new source. In DWD, set up a new Connection object pointing to your new source DSN.
2
Add new DAILY_SOURCE_SXX and HIST_SOURCE_SXX values set to your new source connection.
3
Set up a new set of INITIAL_SETUP_CONNECTION parameters for your new source, setting XX to the next available source number:
INITIAL_JOB_SETUP_CONNECTION_XX – name of source connection
INITIAL_JOB_SETUP_CONNECTION_XX_TYPE
INITIAL_JOB_SETUP_CONNECTION_XX_RUN – set to N
INITIAL_JOB_SETUP_CONNECTION_XX_DAILY_MODULES
INITIAL_JOB_SETUP_CONNECTION_XX_HIST_MODULES
INITIAL_JOB_SETUP_CONNECTION_XX_VERSION
4
Verify that all other INITIAL_JOB_SETUP_CONNECTION_XX_RUN parameters for the source are set to Y so that their history loads are not rerun.
5
Set INITIAL_JOB_SETUP_ENABLED to Y.
6
Run INITIAL_JOB_SETUP.
7
Run HIST_START. Verify that the new source is the only one being loaded.
8
After the new source’s history has been loaded, daily processing can resume.
