    October 2013

PRECISION TMS/QAD Freight Management Release Notes
PRECISION TMS/QAD Freight Management Version: S37
    Release Date: October 2013
    Application Enhancements
    Black Box Message Changes
DHL Neutral Delivery Service (NDS) is now allowed as an accessorial.
FedEx Third Party Consignee (TPC) is now allowed as an accessorial.
UPS Carbon Neutral is now allowed as an accessorial.
The Payment Methods (Freight, Duty, COD) are now correctly assigned from the Routing Guide assignment when the shipment is not using the default set based on the Delivery Terms.
When packs have no associated items, the volume is now calculated from the dimensions, provided that these dimensions are present.
When Customer Defined fields 01 to 09 to NRUSR1-to-NRUSR9 exist in the message, these fields are correctly parsed and mapped.
Party information can be returned in the response for QueryShipment and ShipShipment.
The query for the Rate Shop results now runs correctly when Promise Date/Time is used.
    End of Day (EOD) Process
The numeric format is set as part of the EOD process. This action ensures that when users are logged in with different numeric formats, the underlying programs still use a single numeric format for processing.
    LTL — Check Digits Added
A check digit is no longer required for Estes carrier (EXLA), and so the PRO number should be 10 digits, not 11.
For a full list of supported LTL check digits, see Topic 045 - Supported TL-LTL Carriers.xls.
    Rate and Transit Time Maintenance
ISO country codes are used instead of shipment transaction country codes for the transit time engine.
Fuel Uplift can be applied to fuel calculated at a per-pack basis.
Support for Delivery Day fields in the Transit Time determination. These days can be interpreted as possible delivery days and therefore should not be counted as non-transit days.
    Rating Legacy Engine (TH structure)
Spaces are now removed from postal codes when rate structures are uploaded via Excel.
Flat-file Excel structures can now include rating zones for Shipper State, Recipient State, and Recipient Postal Range.
    Routing Guide
If the inducted country is the same country as the recipient address, then the domestic flag within the routing guide engine program is set before the call to the carrier integration engines.
If the shipper address is derived from a system value, set the ISO country for the shipper country within the routing guide engine program.
Support for XMS2DR0 as a dynamic routing criteria table.
For more information on the Routing Guide, see Topic040 - Routing Guide and Rate Shopping.doc.
    General Enhancements
Supports validation of Canadian state and postal code associations for RG records that begin with CTRY-CA-STATE. You can request an XML of the relevant RG records from Precision to enable these postcode validation checks.
Supports validation of US Territory postcodes for RG records that begin with CTRY-US-TERRITORY. You can request an XML of the relevant RG records from Precision to enable these postcode validation checks.
Croatia is now treated as an EU country for any EU/non-EU validation.
    Carrier-Specific Enhancements
This release offers support for a number of additional carrier-specific features.
If no zone classification can be found during the rating process, an error is raised and processing of the shipment stops.
The consolidation process can be run on the EOD batch. This ensures that any packages that can be consolidated together can be mapped as a unit through the EOD file.
The Consignee Contact is output to ConsigneeName2 in the EOD file, when configured by a request from the carrier. This also outputs the Contact name in the address information section on the label. The related system value is as follows: Category: SPS, Key: CHRN: xxxx PLD CONSIGNEE CNCT, where xxxx is replaced by the relevant Internal ID.
    DB Schenker (German Origin)
A new carrier has been added for shipments of Germany origin. For more information, see the Functionality Guide for this carrier.
DHL - Express (SAS Version, US Origin)
Improved performance of the processing of the BBX manifest documents as part of the EOD process.
It is possible to suppress the automatic printing of manifests during the EOD process. It is configurable via the following system value: Category: SPS, Key: DHU: xxxx SUPPRESS MANIFEST, with xxxx replaced by the relevant Internal ID.
Performance for SAC code determination has been improved by changing the query for postal code searches for some destination countries, including Germany and Spain.
The logic for Puerto Rico postal code searches has been corrected. It now takes account of the fact that these postal codes can be held as ranges, rather than as individual postal code entries, in the SAC routing data.
The logic for the determination of SAC codes for GB postal codes has been extended to take account of all possible GB postal code structures.
DHL - Global Mail (US origin)
The inbound sort code can be four characters long in the data provided via the Sort Code files. This is truncated to three characters for the ESM file, due to the field size limit for the ESM file.
    DHL - Time Definite (non-US)
The ship and package weights are rounded to the nearest 0.5 kg to increase the space available on the label for printing the weight values.
The structure of the Hong Kong origin label is now identical to that of AU and NZ origins.
It is now possible to output the Lithium Battery text, when applicable.
Support for Third Party shipping payment method for EU origin countries.
If space is available, the Shipper Contact name on the label is now always output.
The format of numeric values for Customs Value output has been extended to allow for currencies of large denomination values.
Supports output of the tracking number as a bar code on the manifest document, configurable via a document parameter of PRINT-AWB-BARCODE.
Supports transmission of more than 10 EDI files during EOD process. This can happen if there are multiple files created due to the use of the Collect payment method for different billable accounts.
If errors are found during EOD processing for BBX shipping, then these errors are stored against the EOD batch.
Restrictions have been added on the allowed Delivery Terms applicable for selected freight payment methods, and for particular origin and destination combinations.
Spaces and hyphens are removed from the postcode values mapped to the EOD file.
Supports a DHLTD threshold value for remaining tracking numbers.
    DHL - XML PI Integration
Corrected the output for the label, including: Delivery Date/Time, Inbound/Outbound sort codes, Destination Facility Code, Handling Codes, Shipment Reference.
It is now possible to output the Lithium Battery text, when applicable.
Extension of support of this integration to include EA (Europe/Africa) and AP (Asia Pacific) regions.
Mapping of the XML message has been corrected to improve the performance and validity of the XML generation in the mapping process.
Corrected the handling of the ampersand (&) characters in the XML mapping.
The issue regarding handling of large input and output XML messages has been corrected.
The handling of security and proxy settings has been improved, in terms of how the message communication is managed.
Long names can be processed for Recipient Name, Contact, City, and Address. These values are truncated for the mapping to the DPD EOD file according to the field constraints of DPD’s specification.
The determination of the routing code now involves checking against the Destination country and not the Shipper country. This change impacts some services when shipping internationally—in particular, from the Netherlands to France.
Corrections have been made to the retrieval of item weights for mapping to the Endicia back-end. These corrections prevent the possibility of sending total item weights that exceed the package weight.
The Item Quantity field length has been extended from 3 to 5 digits.
For a multi-piece shipment, if one package fails the Endicia validation, then all packages of the shipment that have already been processed successfully are voided.
The system value update procedure for when the Endicia Pass Phrase update is applied now has the correct number of parameters.
There was an issue with printing the PDF version of label when there is only a single label page to print. This has been corrected.
Hyphens are removed before outputting the zip code on the label.
The Emergency Phone number on the label is not output if there are four or more address lines for the shipper. This avoids text overwriting.
New user-defined markers (cust-info003 and cust-info004) have been added to the labels.
If there is more Recipient Address line information than can be handled by the address lines on the label macro, then Phone Number and Contact Name are placed on a single line.
APO/DPO/FPO postcode validation can now be applied before trying to map to FedEx server for Smartpost.
US Territories (including Puerto Rico) now use International services.
An explicit customs value can now be mapped to the FedEx server. This value differs from the invoice value.
Support for FedEx to file for AES if the PRECISION ITN value matches NOEEI, and support for mapping of AES Exemptions to FedEx server.
Additional audit information is now output to FedEx transaction logs during the processing of transactions.
Multi-piece hazardous international shipments can now be processed on a per-package basis to the FedEx server, as the server cannot handle these as multi-piece transactions.
XTGETTRK.P can now be used to get new sequences, to avoid any potential locking issues.
Fields can be mapped to the gls-BOX to enable the use of the latest 2-D bar-coded label. The label is returned by the gls-BOX to the PRECISION application, and is printed without any further update to it by the PRECISION application.
New carrier added for shipments of Spanish origin. For more information, see the Functionality Guide for this carrier.
    LSi Logistik
New carrier added for shipments of German origin. For more information, see the Functionality Guide for this carrier.

Shipper address lines can now be collated to avoid overwriting the bar code.
Support for the following additional services: Express 48L and ExpressPM.
    PostNL (formerly TNT Post)
Records related to tracking numbers are not cleared down from the database, as part of the EOD process, until at least a year has passed. This approach ensures that, when you are using your own order references for tracking numbers, PRECISION does not create duplicate tracking numbers.
Purolator (New World - CA Origin)
PASSIVE mode can now be used in the EOD file communication via FTP.
Full RETURNS functionality can now be used (label, EOD file, manifest).
    Royal Mail
Includes new label macros for the Royal Mail service per the PPI requirements, including new logos and new layouts.
TNT - Express Label and Unicom
Support for reprinting of the TNT IDE label for the Master shipment, via the EOD screen.
The PLD file can now to be loaded to the FTP server first with its local filename, and then renamed on the FTP site with its target filename.
Corrections related to the TNT IDE processing have been added, along with changes and fixes for the go-live of this service.
Security and proxy settings handling has been enhanced, to improve how the message communication is managed.
Previously, in a multi-shipment scenario, multiple conversions of the restrictions characteristics (including weight and dimension limits) were necessary. Now, only a single conversion of these characteristics is necessary.
Supports the printing of a Detailed Manifest as part of the EOD process.
    TNT - Express Manager version
No longer supported for new implementations of accounts.
    TNT - iConnections Version
    No longer supported.
TNT Express - France Domestic (formerly called Jet Services)
The characters output to the EOD file have been normalized, as the TNT back-end cannot handle some characters.

Supports the EU manifest to be printed for shipments of Russia origin.
An inconsistency, between values printed on a Worldease Invoice for reprint and the values printed at time of the PLD file creation, has been corrected.
Supports Surepost for US Territory destinations.
The dimensional weight UOM for the dimensional weight calculation has been corrected. This could affect the billable weight calculation.
The dimensional weight divisor for the Standard service is now set to 5000, instead of 6000, for non-CA origin countries.
The charge table for the UPS Next Day Early AM service has been changed from UPxxxxNXA to UPxxxxNEA.
Supports new charge table naming conventions for Intra-Hawaii Ground and AK/HI International rates.
A fix has been added to prevent duplicate charges for COD, Insurance, and Extended Area Surcharge, when customized accessorial rates are in use.
