QAD MMOG/LE Self-Assessment Review
With in-depth knowledge of both the automotive sector and QAD solutions, QAD consultants are well equipped to guide suppliers through the MMOG/LE self-assessment process and to define the actions required for improvement.
Our team of senior automotive consultants has developed specialization in this area, and has designed tools like the QAD MMOG/LE Self-Assessment Review that help automotive suppliers around the world meet MMOG/LE standards and improve plant performance.
QAD consultants have helped automotive suppliers with MMOG/LE reviews in North America, South America, Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, and Asia-Pacific. QAD is the designated MMOG/LE training provider on behalf of AIAG/Odette in China, Russia, India and the Czech Republic. Global local language support makes QAD uniquely positioned to deliver effective MMOG/LE consulting regardless of where a supplier does business.
To simplify the self-assessment for QAD customers and make it easier for them to make targeted improvements, QAD has identified the specific QAD application or module that supports each of the 206 points in the MMOG/LE self-assessment. Working with QAD's experienced consultants, a supplier can quickly develop an executable plan to address any deficiencies uncovered in the self-assessment. Companies who have worked with QAD have reported benefits such as passing OEM customer audits/reviews of self-assessment scores, receiving endorsements by OEMs to keep or gain new business and inventory reductions as high as 50 percent.
QAD consultants also perform MMOG/LE reviews for automotive suppliers who use ERP packages other than QAD, helping them identify the operational improvements needed to meet MMOG/LE requirements.
Automotive suppliers globally can derive many important benefits from a QAD MMOG/LE Self-Assessment Review, including:
- Using the MMOG/LE to assess or benchmark business processes and evaluate operational efficiencies
- Identifying operational inefficiencies and areas for business process improvement
- Developing an action plan to address issues and improve performance
- Understanding industry best practices and how to achieve them
- Providing an independent review of MMOG/LE to assure capabilities are not mistakenly overstated
- Helping to ensure OEM supplier qualifications are earned, maintained or enhanced in order to keep or gain new business
- Using MMOG/LE to evaluate, select and strengthen downstream sub-suppliers
Process and Deliverables
The QAD MMOG/LE Self-Assessment Review begins with a brief overview of the MMOG/LE and OEM requirements. The QAD consultant will make a complete tour of the plant, observing how the plant operates and paying close attention to how information flow follows material flow. Critical processes such as electronic communication capabilities, order entry, scheduling and production planning, inventory control, shipping and goods received are evaluated.
Departmental interviews follow, using QAD's predefined format based on definitions in the MMOG/LE. Next, the consultant and assigned members of the customer's team review the six sections of the MMOG/LE: Strategy and Improvement, Work Organization, Capacity and Production Planning, Customer Interface, Production and Product Control and Supplier Interface.
The QAD consultant acts as the customer's guide through the assessment process: identifying audit information required by the OEMs; mapping existing processes to meet OEM-specific requirements and highlighting critical process gaps. The QAD consultant will then use the information gathered from the plant tour, interviews and collaborative review of MMOG/LE sections to complete the 206 points of the self-assessment and determine the final MMOG/LE self-assessment score.
Finally, the customer will receive a report that includes the customer's classification (A, B or C), a record of the proof points, and a road map for improving the MMOG/LE score. The QAD report will highlight the areas for improvement needed to meet MMOG/LE requirements, and provide concrete recommendations for addressing those issues with specific QAD applications or additional functionality.
