As a QAD solutions partner for over 32 years, we work very closely with QAD to enable our customers to evolve with the changing demands of their customers via the latest updates from QAD and adapt to industry drivers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Eagle solution is always evolving its vast standard transaction set and, in addition, several projects around automation and serialization within our European install base. Eagle Europe ensure our customers have this real-time data from their production facilities reflected in QAD.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Automating <\/b>data capture with Eagles Continuous Transaction Processor (CTP) solution has seen everything from simple production line data feeds for counting, through RFID, Vision and integration with mini-automated warehouse solutions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Eagle recently delivered a project with <\/span>Merrychef \u2013 an Ali Group Company <\/b>in line with their upgrade to 2022AE\/2024AUX. Following a rollout project to automate the Fabrication process using the Visual Factory software platform,<\/span> Merrychef<\/b> found that time was consistently lost when a single user took postings generated in Visual Factory from the previous day and manually receipted, via Backflush, all fabrications processed into QAD. This equated to 2.5hrs per day just booking the previous day\u2019s work.<\/span><\/p>\n

To streamline the process and save that 2.5hrs the EAGLE-CTP (Continual Transaction Processor) was setup to perform the Backflush (BKF) transaction in real time, which then removed the need for manual booking and saved 2.5 manhours per day on just one workstation<\/span><\/p>\n

Further savings were realised when users reported any scrap generated during the Fabrication process on Visual Factory. Scrap is moved from the default BKF location to a Scrap location. In this case the Visual Factory system generated the BKF processing details and in the same file included the inventory transfer (TRN) transaction thus eliminating the manual stock transfer in QAD. The Quality Department would then just review the items and quantity within the Scrap location on QAD and then, via manual review, investigate the trends in failures in real time rather than waiting for someone to advise that scrapped items had appeared in physical locations.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe whole process for Fabrication backflush via EAGLE-CTP is so good, that the Merrychef Brand is now looking to automate the Finished Goods MFR using RFID tags to trigger the BKF process on EAGLE-CTP at set stations, again taking out the human element to automate the whole MFR process from FAB-BKF to FGS-BKF to WAREHOUSE-TRN all via EAGLE-CTP.\u201d \u2013 <\/span><\/i>Graham Marshall, Lead Business System Analyst \u2013 EMEA<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Various <\/span>Serialization<\/b> projects have driven our recent updates in line with functionality from QAD. It also allowed us to i<\/span>mplement <\/span>Seamless QAD WMS Integration with Eagle <\/b>at the Amtico Flooring Company\u2019s Pilot Park facility<\/span>, while also working on a few serialisation projects being delivered with our Tier 1 automotive clients.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Amtico Flooring Company, a long-standing user of both QAD and Eagle Data Collection, recently implemented QAD WMS\u00a0to handle the complex shipping requirements of its Pilot Park Finished Goods Warehouse. Whilst Eagle continues to support all factory floor operations at Amtico, including purchase order (PO) receipts, inventory management, and both multi-operation discrete and scheduled work order receipts a solution was required to support current warehousing activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

For this project, Eagle was tasked with developing a new transaction that bridges operations and warehousing, creating a seamless handoff between Eagle managed manufacturing activities and QAD WMS at Pilot Park.<\/span><\/p>\n

Upon completion of a finished goods work order, the new transaction allows Eagle to receipt the order and add it to a serialized pack. Once the parts are added, QAD WMS takes over responsibility for managing the pack within the Pilot Park warehouse.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This integration was designed to keep the operator experience simple and intuitive: the operator only processes the operational transaction, while the serialization and warehouse handoff occur automatically in the background.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was important for us to make the handover from operations to the warehouse as simple as possible, with minimal changes to the existing factory operations,\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span>said Simon Smith, Head of IT at Amtico.<\/b> \u201cThat simplicity on the shop floor was key to ensuring adoption and maintaining productivity.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The new solution was delivered on schedule to support workshop testing in September and is now fully operational. This successful collaboration between Eagle and QAD is one of many examples of how the two platforms can work together to deliver outstanding operational outcomes.<\/span><\/p>\n
