Don’t Fall Victim to the Sins of Manufacturing ERP<\/h2>\n

Paul Henderson \u2014 QAD SVP, Asia Pacific \u2014 has a lot to say about ERP solutions for manufacturing. In his words, \u201cwhen we see disappointing results or outright implementation disasters, we frequently attribute it to the three sins of ERP in manufacturing.\u201d According to Paul the three big no-nos of manufacturing ERP<\/a> are:<\/p>\n

  1. Lack of continuous improvement approach<\/strong> – rather than trying to get every requirement into your manufacturing ERP software implementation, take it in stages with a continuous improvement approach.<\/li>\n
  2. A singular concentration on software<\/strong> – it\u2019s important to remember that it\u2019s not all about the software, but also the effectiveness of the operations and business process that the software supports.<\/li>\n
  3. Assuming the job is over when the solution is live<\/strong> – going live is great, but that\u2019s not where it ends. Benchmark and measure success, and then bring back in #1 – continuous improvement.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
