Casino Era, Meet the “Disruption Era”<\/span><\/h2>\n

Did you know the first government-recognized gambling house was a wing in Venice’s Palazzo Dandolo, called <\/span>Il Ridotto<\/span><\/a> (“The Private Room”)? The Italian government-owned gambling house opened its doors in 1638, and while it was open to the public, the mercantile casino mostly attracted nobles and others who could afford to sit at the tables and play the games.
