Using new methods, this release allows users to access more comprehensive data securely and with less effort. It includes:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Improvements to Document Control<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enhanced capabilities<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Better supervisor visibility into training competence and gaps, for both direct reports and the department<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Improvements to integration log filtering\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additional extensibility and logging capabilities\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also offers improvements to secure ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) data and updates to the Medwatch 3500A adverse event workflow and reporting.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">QAD EQMS 2021.1 Highlights<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The latest enhancements include:<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Document Control<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.qad.com\/solutions\/quality-management-system\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">QAD EQMS<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> provides a document control system to ensure the entire organization is always working with the latest document revisions and engineering changes. Electronic document routings and approvals keep the process moving efficiently and ensure information is available to everyone at the right time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.qad.com\/solutions\/quality-management-system\/features#document-control\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Document Control<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, capabilities have been added that allow users to reduce effort in periodic reviews, such as a risk checklist for change requests and a document type default to convert to PDF. The new release also suggests adding or obsoleting documents, drawings, process and manufacturing records in a change request and has improved watermarks on mixed orientation pages in a document.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Metrics and Charting<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">QAD EQMS provides expanded capabilities for <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.qad.com\/blog\/2019\/04\/metrics-that-matter-quality-management\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">metrics<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and dashboards that include plotting two series of data on the same chart, pareto charts and trending a metric over time (e.g. week, month, quarter, year).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plotting two series of data on the same chart helps users visualize proportions, such as the total number of non-conformances opened per site vs. the number of incomplete non-conformances still opened per site. The true pareto chart provides the ability to see the highest contributing factors such as the number of non-conformances by symptom, allowing users to focus on those symptoms that are most prevalent. Trending a metric over time shows whether the metric is increasing or decreasing over time, such as the number of audits completed monthly by site.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supervisor Visibility into Training Competence and Gaps<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many supervisors who <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.qad.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/why-direct-labor-is-still-the-backbone-of-manufacturing\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">manage shop floor personnel face challenges<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> due to high attrition, retiring workers, and absenteeism, some of which have been exacerbated by COVID-19. This <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.qad.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/building-a-quality-culture-firefighting-not-a-good-sign\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">causes them to scramble<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when they need to staff the shop floor with qualified resources so that productivity and quality do not suffer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the addition of two new elements, department and name of the manager for each employee, on the Employee Skills screen, the supervisor can see both competencies and training gaps of their direct reports and everyone has visibility to competencies or training gaps for a given department.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vertical Specific Enhancements<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additional enhancements were added around ITAR security requirements for manufacturers working with highly classified military data and for adverse events for life sciences.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ITAR Improvements<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having data protected and secured is critical for every manufacturer, and this is especially true for US manufacturers with military contracts. In QAD EQMS, improvements have been made to the ITAR security requirements, ensuring the data is not <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">accessed by unauthorized users<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In response to requests by our customers, ITAR security improvements were added in these areas: APQP with technical data, inspection information, non-conformance and <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.qad.com\/blog\/2020\/01\/effective-corrective-action-system\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">corrective action<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> information.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adverse Events Enhancements<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For life science manufacturers, QAD EQMS supports the latest US FDA format required. The solution supports the FDA 3500A <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/safety\/medical-product-safety-information\/medwatch-forms-fda-safety-reporting\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medwatch report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (February, 2019 version).
