The engine to the BI solution is the BI Data Warehouse Designer (DWD). This tool supports not only QAD developed modules, but also provides customers with a robust, easy-to-use tool to add extensions to the QAD BI modules. The extensions may include adding functionality, using both QAD and non-QAD data sources. Users of the DWD are generally IT professionals or technology savvy “super” users.

The BI DWD includes a scheduler. It processes pre-defined jobs, recording the success, failure or otherwise of the job. The scheduler determines refresh intervals and routines, documentation and data flows are automatically created saving development and support time.
