Data Type Mappings
If the data type mapping set is user defined and not one of the standard files, then it is editable and can be maintained here either by using the buttons on the right hand side, or by entering the data type mappings directly into the table. If you select one of the standard data type mapping sets, then it will not be editable and the buttons on the right hand side will thus be disabled.
1 The New button allows you to create a new data type mapping.
2 The Copy button allows you to copy the highlighted data type mapping. The copy is inserted at the end of the list.
3 The Edit button allows you to edit the data type mapping.
4 The Delete button allows you to delete the data type mapping.
5 The buttons Move up and Move down allow you to move the highlighted data type mapping up or down in the list.
Note: The order of the data type mappings is significant as when loading a table, the procedure checks the data type mappings from top to bottom and stops when a data type and its parameters are correctly matched. A blank parameter means that it will match to anything.
