Use Standard Transaction Types
Did You Know
Use Algorithm Assignment Maintenance to link a specified sequence of rules to each transaction type or combination of transaction type, site, warehouse, item, and address.
QAD Core has one product flow rule. QAD Warehousing has multiple rules and they are configurable.
Algorithms help companies manage inventory control and space utilization by addressing specific operating scenarios.
• What inventory should be selected for picking (FIFO, LIFO, FEFO, and so on)?
• Which location is best for a product put-away?
• Which task should be completed next?
Algorithms are used whenever a system decision is required. For example, when the system must decide which inventory is picked from storage and where it is dropped in shipping. There are over 200 algorithms available to use depending on what you plan to accomplish.
If FIFO is preferred for inventory management, the 12/12/2008 pallet, in the graphic above is picked first. The specific drop conveyor depends on other parameters to be defined.
