Inventory Status Code Maintenance
Use to enter Inventory Status Codes, required for sites and locations. Inventory status codes determine whether specific inventory balances on hand are:
• Available for allocation to sales orders or work orders
• Considered available by MRP
• Allowed to go negative
Inventory status codes also restrict particular transactions at specific locations.
Example: An inventory status code can restrict issues from an inspection location.
At least one inventory status code must be defined before you can enter site/item combinations.
• At least one Inventory Status Code is required. A suggested first code might be “Good” or “OK” with attributes of Available = Yes, Nettable = Yes, and Over Issue = No.
• It is recommended to NEVER use blank codes for any coded field.
• Set up other inventory status codes as needed
