3 Use Work Order Maintenance (16.1) to add a new work order record.
Let the next work order number and ID number default from the control program.
Create a work order for 20 units of item 01010 at site 10-100. Work order status is F (firm planned).
Let the other field values default. Click Next until the Work Order field is highlighted, then click Back.
4 Use Work Order Release/Print (16.6) to release the work order you created.
This function will also print the work order picklist and routing, also known as the shop paper. Accept all other default values.
Note: If your system is configured with a printer, you may want to print your work order picklist and routing. If you do not have a printer, direct the output to Page to view the documents on your monitor.
Tip Use the lookup function to find your work order. Output to Page or file if you want to save a copy of the picklist and routing.
Review picklist and routing.
Find the new status of the order using Work Order Browse (16.2). What is it?
Issue Work Order Components
5 Use Work Order Component Issue (16.10) to issue components from your inventory to your work order. Select Issue Picked to make your transaction more automatic.
Note: By overriding the data in the transaction frame, you can change the quantity issued or the location from which the items are issued. In this exercise you should accept the default values since no inventory should exist in any other locations.
6 Update and exit.
Report Labor to a Work Order
7 Manually calculate how much labor for setup and run time you need to complete all 20 units at each operation. (These numbers are on the routing that was printed for the work order.)
Assume the shop has now built the units.
8 Use Labor Feedback by Work Order (16.20.1) to report labor and units completed at each operation on your routing, based on your calculation above. Use employee 10-EMP01.
At each operation (10, 20, and 30) report the units completed and the elapsed setup and run times.
Change Time Ind field to Decimal Hours.
In Operation Transaction Detail Inquiry (16.20.13.9), you could look at the transactions created when you reported labor.
9 Use Work Order Routing Maintenance (16.13.13) to review your work order routing. Check how many units have been completed at each operation and how much labor was used for each operation.
Receive and Close a Work Order
10 Use Work Order Receipt (16.11) to receive all 20 medical ultrasounds from the work order into inventory at site 10-100, location 010.
