SSM Interaction
Many users who are unfamiliar with the scope of SSM functions think of service as an isolated area that has little to do with the rest of QAD EE. In fact, Service and Support Management relies heavily on information that is set up and managed in other QAD EE modules. This figure illustrates how SSM draws on data from other modules and is fully integrated with them. Modules with dashed lines are optional; those with solid lines are required to run SSM. The arrows indicate the direction of data flow.
Service functions do not passively use data defined in other areas of QAD EE. They also actively affect it. For example, service activity may interact with MRP requirements, allocations, and forecasting. Service affects general ledger accounts with both cost and revenue. Service activity is invoiced using standard sales order invoicing functions.
These are just a few examples of the way SSM interacts with other modules.
