Three default BOMs and routings can be associated with an item in Service Item Maintenance and are used by the system under different circumstances.
The Repair BOM and Routing are used by default for calls created with Call Maintenance, Call Quote Maintenance, and the Call Generator for work codes other than PM or Install. The Repair Routing is also used on work orders created by the RMA Release to Work Order function. A Repair BOM and Routing are normally specified only if repairable is Yes; otherwise, a warning is displayed.
The PM BOM and Routing are used by default for calls created automatically by the system during PM scheduling in Contract Maintenance or created with the PM work code in Call Maintenance, Call Quote Maintenance, or the Call Generator. A PM BOM and Routing are normally specified only if the Days Between PM field is not zero; otherwise, a warning is displayed.
The Installation BOM and Routing are used by default when an installation call is created for a newly sold item during invoice post or a call is created with the Install work code in Call Maintenance, Call Quote Maintenance, or the Call Generator. An Installation BOM and Routing are normally specified only if Installation Call is Yes; otherwise, a warning is displayed.
Different BOMs and Routings can be set up by site in Service Item Maintenance by Site (11.3.9).
