The data entry required for recording call information can be greatly streamlined by setting up multiple sets of default call information in Call Default Maintenance (11.1.21.10). These sets of defaults are pulled into the Call Maintenance screen or used for calls automatically created by the system. Defaults for call quotes are also set up with the same maintenance function. Call types codes provide a way to categorize calls and are set up in Call Type Maintenance (11.1.21.4).

The call defaults serve as templates for the typical kinds of calls you take, and are often based on work code. Default values can be overridden for individual calls as needed. For example, you might need to assign a problem/skill other than the default. To prevent having to change the information for new calls, enter default information that is appropriate for as many calls as possible.
