Call Activity Recording
Overview
This lesson discusses in more detail the third stage in the call management life cycle: recording service activity. Call Activity Recording (CAR) is used for recording of the labor actually performed, the actual items consumed, and any expenses assumed while servicing the call. Item-by-item recording is possible. Charges can be indicated as warranty, contract, covered, billable, fixed billable, project, or giveaway.
Call Activity Recording provides the means of creating call invoices, managed in Call Invoice Recording (CIR). Accurate call billing is crucial to any service operation, whether field or repair center based.
User-definable control codes are used in CAR to control the cost flow into the General Ledger. This allows recording of costs in specific service accounts and gives you full control over GL reporting activity.
