The term nexus is used in US tax law to indicate when a business has a presence in a state and is, therefore, subject to state income taxes and to sales taxes for sales within that state. Nexuses in AvaTax correspond to tax zones in QAD EE. For AvaTax calculations, you need two general nexuses/tax zones—one for the US and one for Canada. See Tax Zones.
