Master Scheduler
A master scheduler, who is responsible for making finished product supply equal customer demand, needs the following:
1 Visibility to recent production performance to schedule, both in terms of order on-time and volume performance, so that company response time to react to problems can be reduced.
2 A prioritized display of the items or groups of items that have issues that require the scheduler’s attention, so that the master scheduler can take appropriate action to evaluate and adjust the schedule and give the best possible customer service.
3 To monitor component materials that need to be delivered to the scheduler’s production lines in support of the planned master schedule starts.
4 To monitor recent shipping performance (on-time and in-full performance) by item or groups of items so that when there is a problem the scheduler has an opportunity to react quickly.
5 A view of the quality of master schedule data so that errors or inconsistencies can be corrected before they affect the quality of the master production schedule.
6 Access to specific orders that have been under-produced or that have not been delivered on time so that the scheduler can evaluate the effect of these on customer deliveries.
The Master Scheduler dashboard displays the following panels in support of these objectives:
