Purchasing Material Planner
A purchasing material planner, who is responsible for supplying purchased parts and raw material against production demands, needs the following:
1 Visibility to recent supplier performance to schedule, both in terms of order on-time and overdue performance in terms of orders and value, so that company response time to react to problems can be reduced, and so that the planner can work with problem suppliers proactively.
2 A display of the items or groups of items that have issues that require attention, so that the planner can take appropriate action to align supply with demand.
3 Projections of future spending by item or group of items so these can be monitored by the planner.
4 To monitor component materials that are short and that need to be delivered to production lines in support of the planned master schedule starts.
5 A view of the inventory turnover on purchased parts and raw material so that commodities that are not turning sufficiently fast can be improved, thereby, reducing the amount of working capital tied up in inventory.

Inventory Days on Hand shows days on hand computed for each item in inventory based on current inventory and future demand for an item-site combination

Aggregated Days On Hand by Commodity
(Operational Metric)
Aggregated Days On Hand by Commodity shows a system-defined aggregated value for all items with the same commodity code. The values are based on running Build Days On Hand Analysis

You can use the Monitor Material Shortages browse to drill down into supply and demand details and summary data or inventory details to review and analyze data. You can also browse purchase orders or scheduled orders.
