Built-In Recovery
Warehouse staff who were batch picking from an RF device can automatically resume picking when they are back online. The system skips the order-selection frame on the RF and redisplays the picking screen that displayed when the system went offline. The recovery functionality ensures that tasks previously selected but not picked are available for picking. Warehouse staff can resume picking and dropping off all or some boxes as usual.
Error Management
In the event of an error during the picking or confirmation processes, the system sets the transaction’s status to error and stops the processing of the individual transaction. The user can continue working normally for the remaining transactions.
The RF does not provide detailed messages to the user about the error. Instead, it shows a summary of the transactions processed correctly and those in error.
QAD Warehousing users can use Batch Picking Crash Recovery to analyze and fix the batch picking errors. This function has the same available functions as the external device batch picking, but with the ability of provide detailed warning and error messages as transactions are being processed.
When you first enter Batch Picking Crash Recovery and enter a user ID, the system first validates the ID. If the user is logged in to an RF device session, the system prompts to try to terminate that session.
If you respond with Yes, the system analyzes the unprocessed transactions for that user and displays the transactions with a status of picking, complete, or error.
The system changes the current user to the batch picking user. When you select a transaction for the list, the system creates a batch-picking record with a blank status for the record. Blank status indicates an unprocessed transaction. You can unselect an unprocessed transaction by undoing the previous selection process. When the system creates the batch picking record, it also calculates the distance to the current location. This aids in sorting transactions by travel sequence.
You can choose to process the complete transactions by confirming them. The system displays all transactions at once. Press Enter to edit the destination location of a highlighted record. The system does not validate the transaction’s internal routing when updating the destination location.
Hard-assigned transactions can only be selected by the user to whom they are assigned; soft-assigned transactions can be selected by other users.
Once you review or modify transactions, you can launch the confirmation process by pressing F1/Go or undo the changes by pressing F4/End.
When the RF user presses F1/Go, the system reprocesses transactions with a picking or error status. The system can display detailed warning or error messages on the transaction processing
