In Brazil, depending on the size of the company and the volume of notas fiscais received and issued per year, companies must provide the government with a package of flat files and printed reports containing nota fiscal and tax information.

Using Regional Accounting/Tax Data Export (36.5.3), you can generate a file containing notas fiscais and tax data. The file must be sent to a fiscal partner, who will use the files to develop PIS and COFINS Sistema Publico de Escrituração Digital (SPED) reports, ICMS Fiscal SPED reports, and other fiscal reports for the Brazilian government.
