You can configure the system to generate an XML compliance response message into a Highway endpoint when one of these actions is taken:
• Running Compliance by clicking Recheck, Recheck All, or the Run Compliance workflow task
• Manually overriding a check result
• Attaching a license or permit
• Answering a question
An endpoint can be a folder, a queue, or an e-mail. For compliance messages, the endpoint is usually a folder location configured in Highway. You can then set up an output endpoint to poll and pick up and parse response messages to update the shipment status or external system.
Note: A response message is only generated when the overall compliance status on a transaction changes. Therefore, when the status of an individual check changes, but the overall status does not change, no response is sent.
