Network Considerations
Network sizing involves taking the following considerations into account. For network terminology, see

• Bandwidth requirements of the product
• Effect of latency and packet loss on performance and responsiveness
There are different types of network communication demand within QAD BI, and each area requires separate consideration from a sizing point of view. To this end we divide network sizing into the following areas:
1 Network considerations between the ERP database and BI database
2 Network considerations between the remote client and BI Portal
3 WAN Considerations for both 1 and 2; for example, the impact of placing a WAN between the ERP database and the BI database server, and the impact of placing a WAN between a remote client and the BI Portal
