Exercise: Set Up a Production Line and Create Schedule
1 Use Production Line Maintenance (18.22.1.1) to set up Line 1 at Site 10-100.

• Click Next and enter item 01030 and set its rate to 3 units/hour.
Both of these items are made on the same line but have different rates.
Create Schedule
2 Use Schedule Maintenance (18.22.2.1) to create a schedule for item 01020, on production line Line 1. Schedule 67 units per day for the balance of the current week starting with today, not including weekends.
3 Use Item Schedule Inquiry (18.22.2.2) to review the schedule you just created.
View Supply Orders
4 Use Master Schedule Detail Inquiry (22.21) to see the supply orders are pegged to a repetitive schedule for item 01020.
View Component Requirements
5 Use MRP Detail Inquiry (23.16) to review the component requirements. Check each component. Note there are no gross requirements for the components because the schedule has not been exploded.
Explode the Schedule
6 Use (18.22.2.4) Schedule Explosion for your item, site, and production line. Direct the output to page.
View Requirements
7 Use Master Schedule Detail Inquiry (22.21) to view the requirements for 01020.
Note: Note the supply orders now are daily work orders, with the work order number the same as the item number and unique IDs for each daily repetitive schedule.
8 Use MRP Detail Inquiry (23.16) to view the component requirements for each component part number. Note that all components now have requirements and they are pegged to the repetitive scheduled orders.
Generate Operation Schedule Report
9 Use Operation Schedule Report (18.22.2.5), for your item, site and production line. Set the Day/Week/Month field to D and direct the output to page. Note the Quantity Scheduled to start, Quantity Open and Load Hours Open. Also notice that the operations are scheduled to run concurrently because the overlap was set at 1 unit for all the operations in the routing.
Delete Unneeded Schedules
10 Use Schedule Maintenance (18.22.2.1), for item 01020, at Site 01020 on production line Line 1. As you advance to the schedule frame the delete button will appear. Click Delete and confirm.
