Field notifications are created with Field Notification Maintenance (11.3.12.1). They may also be created directly from the Call Generator. In this case, a similar frame displays as part of the call generation process.

When you create a field notification, you can optionally specify a document associated with it. This may be an ECN, documenting the problem and product change required, or some kind of internal reference document. You can also optionally specify that all items for one end user be combined into one call.

The remainder of the maintenance fields enable you to specify attributes of the call to be created and selection criteria for the items in the installed base. A call or call line will be generated for each one of these items.
