Product Lines in CAR
Service and Support Management provides two maintenance functions that enable service organizations to segregate service costs and revenue from the regular sales and COGS accounts:
• Charge Product Line Maintenance (11.21.21.5)
• Revenue Product Line Maintenance (11.21.21.9)
Note: These product lines do not have to be different, although the functional distinction remains. You only need to use different product lines for charges, revenue, and WIP if you are segregating accounting for reporting and summarizing purposes.
