What is a Report?
Most service organizations currently have some method in place for engineers to record the items, labor, and expenses associated with servicing an item. This is typically done with a numbered paper report. Frequently, pre-numbered forms are used to ensure unique report IDs. Engineers may turn in these reports as a job is completed; or for lengthy jobs, reports may be turned in daily or weekly. All activity can be recorded on one report, or multiple reports can be opened for one line item.
More than one invoice can be generated for activity recorded against a call or a call line item. This is important if the call activity is going to cover several days or weeks, as might be the case in a complex installation. The engineer can record expenses at the end of each day or week by creating multiple reports for a single line item.
