Pricing in CAR
The price defaults from the price list specified in the CAR header, unless this is a fixed price repair. For fixed price repairs, the price was determined at the call line level. Prices for individual details default to zero and cannot be changed.
The price displayed is the price for one unit. Prices for labor are based on the service category. If the system cannot find a price on the price list, the default is zero and must be entered manually. The Extended Price is calculated by determining the covered amount from the service type currently in effect and subtracting it from the total price (price * quantity). Price can be changed, but the field can be secured.
Covered Amount is the total price for which the customer is not billed as determined by coverage limits associated with the current contract or service type. The amount covered can be zero if no coverage is provided, if service limits on a contract have already been exceeded, or if a list price limit is exceeded. Covered amount can be modified, but the field can be secured. The covered amount cannot exceed the price times the quantity.
For fixed price repairs, covered amount always defaults to zero and cannot be changed.
