QAD Warehousing is the first QAD Enterprise Application 2008 Enterprise Edition version of the Advanced Inventory Management (AIM) product. QAD Warehousing is a fully merged, optional module within QAD Enterprise Application 2008 Enterprise Edition that displays as menu item 4, Warehousing.

Specific changes by menu are described in the following topics.

A new Ext Routing Assignment Browse (4.2.18) and Ext Routing Assignment Report (4.2.19) were added.

Location Maintenance Menu (80.3.13) was removed. Many programs in the menu were renamed to include Warehouse in the program name. For example, Location Maintenance was renamed Warehouse Location Maintenance.

A new Location Reports Menu (4.3.17) was added with these existing AIM programs moved to the menu:

The Location Forecast Menu was moved from AIM (80.10) to the Location Menu (4.3). The following programs were renamed:

A new Check Digit Generation (4.3.22) program was added.

The following programs were renamed:

AIM Item Number Change (80.4.21) was removed.

Program names in the Sizing menu (4.5) were changed slightly. UM was renamed Unit of Measure in many of the programs. Browses and reports were renamed to follow standard QAD 2008 - Enterprise names for these type programs.

Two new programs were added:

The AIM Algorithm Simulation Menu (80.6.21) was removed along with two reports in the menu. PA/LF Simulation (80.6.21.1) was renamed Put Away/Loc Find Simulation (4.6.13).

Engine transaction type programs were moved to the beginning of the Engine menu (4.7), while engine processors moved to the end of the Engine menu.

Program names changed slightly to match QAD 2008 - Enterprise program names. The following programs were removed:

The order and names of these programs changed:

Inventory Status Maintenance (80.8.15) was removed.

The following were added to the Reports Menu (4.9):

Two new programs were added to the Labor Management Menu (4.11):

The following AIM programs were dispersed throughout the Labor Management Menu (4.11) so that they follow the maintenance and browse programs, like standard QAD 2008 - Enterprise programs:

A new Labor Management User Menu (4.11.3) was added and AIM labor management user programs were added to the new menu. The programs that were added were renamed; the term, Warehouse, was added to the program name so that the programs would not duplicate existing QAD 2008 - Enterprise programs. For example, User Maintenance (80.11.13) was renamed User Warehouse Data Maintenance, (4.11.3.1) and Group Maintenance (80.11.15) was renamed Warehouse Group Maintenance (4.33.3.5).

Also, the following programs were renamed:

Current User Performance Report (80.11.3.9) was removed.

The Order Management Menu is now before the Bulk Picking Menu and was renamed Order Warehouse Menu (4.13). Additionally, AIM order management programs were renamed to distinguish them from QAD 2008 - Enterprise functions; for example, Order Maintenance (80.14.1) is now Order Warehouse Data Maintenance (4.13.1) and Sales Order Maintenance (80.14.3) is now SO Warehouse Data Maintenance (4.13.3).

A new Allocated Order Warehouse Report (4.13.10) was added.

In the new Bulk Picking Menu (4.13), programs were rearranged to follow a more logical flow when processing bulk picked orders. For example, the order deselection program now follows the order selection program, and the approval program follows both of these. All bulk print functions and reports follow the bulk pick maintenance programs and reports.

The following new menu and programs were added:

All wave planning setup programs, such as those for creating lanes and workload groups and assigning lanes now reside in a new Wave Planning Setup Menu (4.15.1). Wave planning reports now reside in a new Reports Menu (4.15.4).

A new Wave Delete/Archive (4.15.23) program was added.

In Replenishment Menu (4.16), the Replenishment Location Maint program and reports and the Replenishment SLG Maint program and reports were moved before the Replenishment Request (4.16.13) program.

The Stock Transfer Menu (80.17) was renamed the Receipts/Transfers/Issues Menu (4.17). Other program names changed slightly to distinguish them from QAD 2008 - Enterprise functions and programs; for example, Transfer by Reference (80.17.1) was renamed Warehouse Transfer By Reference (4.17.1).

The Interface Menu (80.19) was removed and programs under the menu were moved to the Labor Management User Menu (4.11.3), except for EAN/SCC Coding Test (80.19.13) and Barcode Prefix Control File (80.19.24). These two programs were moved to a new Verbosity menu (4.23.1) under the Warehouse System Admin Menu (4.23).

The Quality/Inspection Menu (4.19) was moved before the Printing Menu (4.21). Programs were renamed:

In the Printing Menu (4.21), a new Printing Setup Menu (4.21.1) was added along with these new print programs:

A new Transaction/ID Reprint (4.21.12) program was added.

The Reprint (80.20.11) program was renamed Transaction/ID Reprint (4.21.12).

The System Menu (80.24) is now the Warehouse System Admin Menu (4.23).

A new Sequence Definition Report (4.3.3) was added.

Sequence Definition Inquiry (80.4.2) was renamed Sequence Current Values Inquiry (4.23.4).

System Control File (80.24.24) was renamed Warehouse Management Control (4.24).

A new Miscellaneous Utilities Menu (4.25) was created but is not visible from the QAD Warehousing menu. Programs in the new menu previously existed throughout various AIM menus. The programs are intended for use by system administrators.

A new Print Paperwork (3.8) option was added to the RF Picking/Container (3.) menu. The Print Paperwork option supports parcel manifest functionality; see Parcel Manifest.

The BP Pick SO (3.1) option was changed to BP Pick SO/DO to support DO shipper functionality; see DO Shipper Functionality.

AIM code was merged into the QAD 2008 - Enterprise as QAD Warehousing code. The changes to code include the following:

In addition to the new programs that are listed under the menu topics, new enhancements were added to QAD Warehousing as described in the following topics:

A new Distribution Orders Shipping Menu (12.19) was added to QAD 2008. QAD Warehousing was enhanced to support the new DO shipper functionality.

For bulk picking, you can confirm transactions for a sales order line or a distribution order requisition. The confirmation of the warehouse transactions ensures that confirmed item quantities are included on a standard shipper, just like items created and confirmed in the Shipment Processing Menu (7.9) for sales orders or Distribution Orders Shipping Menu (12.19) for distribution orders. Also, once a pre-shipper or shipper is complete for the bulk-picked orders, you can issue goods using the standard system Pre-Shipper/Shipper Confirm (7.9.5) or DO Pre-Shipper/Shipper Confirm (12.19.13).

For batch picking, you can now merge sales orders/distribution orders on different pre-shippers. When staff log onto the RF, they can now select orders from either sales order or distribution orders. The RF Batch Pick -SO menu is now the Batch Pick - SO/DO option. If you selected Batch Pick-SO/DO, orders are now preceded with either an S(ales) or D(istribution) depending on the type.

For wave planning, you can maintain carriers at the line level in the system using SO Warehouse Data Maintenance (4.13.3) for sales orders or DO Warehouse Data Maintenance (4.13.6) for distribution orders. The first step of wave replenishment now creates a pre-shipper for sales orders or distribution orders. When you release a wave, the system creates and prints the pre-shipper for sales orders or distribution orders.

A manifest is a list of goods carried on a truck, train, or ship. Before starting the truck load process, RF users can now produce the necessary shipment manifest by using the new RF Print Paperwork (3.8) function. Print Paperwork allows RF users to:

A new Print Paperwork Frame in Batch Picking Control (4.15.24) lets you set defaults for shipper printing. You can optionally print a pre-shipper/shipper for both sales and distribution orders from the RF.

A new Master Comment Maintenance (36.7.12) utility was added. The utility is for system administrators to use when they initially activate the wave planning module (4.15). The utility updates customer schedule due dates as well as marks orders as allocated when needed.
