To receive or customize alerts, you must sign up as a role participant in the QAD Workflow module. The embedded internal workflow module lets you forward or route work items to another role or person in the organization for completion or validation. It serves as a built-in automated approval process that can be applied to any record or document created in the system by forwarding work to the appropriate role. It must be specifically enabled before it can be used.

The workflow is a generic function that can be started from the Tools menu of an individual screen. The user must have a role that has been given access to create workflows in Role Permissions Maintain (36.3.6.5) in order to initiate a workflow.
