Check tasks are tasks that run in the background and check or update some data in the database before or after a task is run. Because they run in the background, users may never be aware of them. There are two types of checks, PROGRESS code checks and Java code checks. Check tasks do not appear in the list of tasks in the Tasks area. They are visible in the Windows UI.

To create check tasks for your workflow, contact Precision R&D. You can then add these check tasks to your workflow, selecting the check task option when filling in the task details. Choose high task sequence numbers for check tasks to distinguish them from other tasks in the workflow. Specify whether the check task is a pre- and/or postrequisite to another task.
