Caching
When you update a system value in the Windows UI, the change does not take effect until the cache has been cleared. Caching works differently in the Web UI and the Windows UI. The Windows UI cache is user-specific. Therefore, when you log out of Precision and log back in, the cache is updated.
If you update a system value using the Web UI, the cache automatically updates, rather than updating on logout and login. This is because Precision is running on a Java virtual machine, and everyone using that machine has access to the cache. Logging out and logging in is not sufficient to update the cache, so the Web UI takes care of this for you instead.
If the system value is updated in the Windows UI or used by the listener programs then the cache will need to be reset either by clearing the cache in the Administration page in the System Settings page or restarting the listeners.
