Martin Belaysoud Expansion

The Company:

MODERNIZING FOR AGILITY: HOW MARTIN BELAYSOUD TRANSFORMED ADVANCED PLANNING AND SCHEDULING (APS) WITH QAD DIGITAL SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNING (DSCP)

Martin Belaysoud Expansion (MBE) is a leading French distributor serving professionals through its brands Téréva and Mabéo Industries. Operating across the country, the group provides comprehensive solutions for the construction, industrial, and public sectors in plumbing, HVAC, electrical supplies, PPE, and industrial equipment.

With thousands of employees and a robust logistics network, MBE places innovation, customer satisfaction, and digital transformation at the core of its long-term growth strategy. Like many supply chain leaders across Europe, MBE was navigating increased demand volatility, inflationary pressures and the operational complexity of serving customers across a fragmented logistics network. To remain resilient and responsive in this supply chain climate, MBE needed smarter, more scalable digital tools to anticipate and respond to change in real time.

The Challenge:

MODERNIZING A DECADE-OLD APS TO MEET NEW PERFORMANCE AND SCALABILITY DEMANDS

Martin Belaysoud had been using QAD Digital Supply Chain Planning (formerly DynaSys) for more than a decade. Over the years,  the APS solution was migrated to the cloud and continuously enhanced over time.

However, the legacy system had reached its limits. It relied heavily on custom parameters and was increasingly constrained by data volume and scalability issues. These constraints created a ripple effect: delayed decisions, suboptimal inventory allocation and mounting pressure on planning teams to manually compensate for system gaps. As data volumes ballooned and order responsiveness slowed, the legacy platform risked undermining customer service levels and future growth plans.

To support MBE’s strategic growth plan, and to maintain a high standard of service, a full system overhaul was necessary. The goals: shift to standard parameters, improve performance and scalability, and introduce new business capabilities like optimized order scenarios.

The APS transformation program was part of a broader modernization of MBE’s information systems, revenue growth ambitions, and service quality initiatives. With major changes underway like new logistics platforms, a new WMS, and organizational restructuring, MBE needed a modern APS solution that would be sustainable and scalable.

After a market review, MBE chose to fully redesign its planning processes by upgrading to the latest cloud version of QAD DSCP, reaffirming its long-standing partnership with QAD.

“This deployment is a key milestone in the evolution of our tools, helping us boost agility and team performance.”

The Solution:

MODERNIZING PLANNING, IMPROVING VISIBILITY AND ALIGNING DECISIONS ACROSS THE SUPPLY CHAIN WITH UPGRADED QAD DSCP

The new APS wasn’t just an IT upgrade; it was a foundation for smarter decision-making across the enterprise. From purchasing to distribution, teams now access the same real-time data to align decisions with MBE’s broader strategy for sustainable, customer-centric growth.

MBE selected the latest version of QAD DSCP with full Web capabilities to meet its performance, usability, and integration needs. The new solution features a modern, ergonomic interface, higher data processing capabilities, and advanced technologies, including AI functionalities already in use at MBE for over two years.

“This deployment is a key milestone in the evolution of our tools, helping us boost agility and team performance,” said Amandine Raieri, Procurement Director of MBE.

Key innovations include:

  • User-centric Web Interface: A redesigned homepage with centralized KPIs for full visibility into inventory, order portfolios, and planning
  • High-Frequency Integration with AS400: Interactive data exchange several times per hour to ensure rapid order responsiveness
  • Multi-Tier Pricing Integration: Pulling complex pricing data from AS400 for supplier order optimization
  • Automated Stock Transfers: Directly generated within QAD DSCP, enabling better inventory management across platforms
  • Root-Cause Trigger Identification: Quickly linking order proposals to their source demand

The project included key phases and milestones:

  • Phase One: Requirements gathering, kickoff and initial workshops
  • Phase Two: Continued workshops, preparation for the new logistics site in Louverné and testing phases
  • Today: Final testing and validations, training programs, go-live and post-launch support

Throughout the transformation, QAD Professional Services played a critical role in guiding the design, configuration and deployment of the new solution, ensuring best practices were embedded at every stage.

In close collaboration with QAD, MBE’s business and IT teams implemented a robust change management program to ensure successful adoption:

  • All planners received comprehensive training prior to launch
  • Detailed work instructions were provided for seamless onboarding
  • A dedicated support unit including trainers, key users, and QAD consultants guided the teams
  • A daily “red thread” communication ensured project alignment

The new system went live across Mabéo Industries and Téréva sites, including Montagnat, Pusignan, Brive, Ris-Orangis, and soon Louverné.

The Benefits:

DRIVING AGILITY, FORECAST ACCURACY AND SCALABILITY WITH A ROADMAP FOR CONTINUOUS SUPPLY CHAIN OPTIMIZATION

User feedback has been extremely positive. The new system is expected to significantly improve team responsiveness and operational performance.

“This new tool allows us to go further in delivering customer satisfaction and ensuring accurate stock and procurement management,” said Arnaud Dessale, Supply Chain Director of MBE.

Key expected benefits (KPIs) include:

  • Reduced stockouts
  • Higher forecast accuracy
  • Greater scalability
  • Improved order optimization aligned with Group capacity planning

User satisfaction surveys confirmed strong approval of the training experience, support quality, trainers, and content. Top-rated features include the new homepage, real-time interactivity, strategic enhancements, and the order trigger visibility.

Looking ahead, MBE plans to enhance collaboration and scenario modeling, further embedding agility into its supply chain management. These capabilities allow teams to co-create forecasts with suppliers and model trade-offs across inventory, logistics and service, ensuring the APS solution continues to evolve with the business.

MBE and QAD are already planning additional enhancements for the solution, including:

  • Promotion Management - enabling planners to factor promotional activities into forecasts, ensuring better alignment between marketing initiatives and supply chain execution
  • Collaborative Forecasting – enabling forecast sharing with external stakeholders such as suppliers and S&OP participants
  • Scenario & Simulation Capabilities – to assess trade-offs and optimize inventory, logistics capacity, and service levels

MBE’s APS transformation marks a pivotal step in its digital evolution, empowering teams to plan with precision, respond with agility and deliver with confidence. With QAD DSCP as a strategic enabler, MBE is not only optimizing today’s operations but also laying the groundwork for smarter collaboration and innovation across its supply chain. As the business continues to grow, QAD remains a trusted partner in helping MBE navigate change and shape the future of customer-focused distribution.
