QAD Graduate Program

As you may have read in a previous post about working here is that QAD invests in its employees. Whether it’s through education, training events, mentoring or attending conferences — QAD wants to make sure that employees have the tools they need to be successful in supporting our customers. One way QAD invests in people is through the Fast Track graduate development and job rotation program offered to recent college grads entering the workforce. It’s an excellent opportunity to kick off a career in software.

What is the Fast Track Graduate Development Program?

The Fast Track graduate development program takes place annually, as a matter of fact, we just welcomed our fourth class of “Fast Trackers” (Fast Track Program Associate Engineers) this month. You can look at it like an intern-development program. Candidates start with a recent college education, but without much practical experience, and by the end of the program they are lean, mean, erp-software machines! Of course, there is a path to success paved with hard work.

What is the Process for the Fast Track Program?

The complete job rotation program is a year-long and includes three components: Research & Development (R&D), Customer Support and Services. Six months of that time is spent at QAD corporate headquarters in Santa Barbara, CA and the other six months is split between other various QAD offices depending on which product module track they’re on: QAD Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), QAD Automation Solutions or QAD Financials.

The Fast Trackers work through each of the departments to receive extensive training, hands on experience and preparation for The Association for Operations Management (APICS) Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) exam. Upon successful completion of the program, which includes successfully passing the necessary exams, the Fast Trackers will be evaluated for placement in one of the three functional departments to further their QAD careers, and start helping customers build their effective enterprise.

How Can I Become A Fast Tracker?

Be sure to keep an eye on our Careers page for the latest on the Fast Tracker program. We start posting the Fast Tracker jobs in the spring, and a new class begins each summer in June. Learn more and get a first-hand account of what it’s like to be a Fast Tracker from Heather’s story.
