If you use Entity GL Period Report (25.4.2.5) to set a period to reported, the system displays an error message if consistency checks have not been run for that GL period. You are prevented from closing the GL period.

If you attempt to set a GL period to reported, and at least one of the technical or business validations failed when you ran the consistency checks, the system displays a warning. You can choose to overrule the warning and set the period to reported. However, the overrule decision is logged.
