Our Tips & Tricks series has begun! The QAD UX team has compiled a list of quick tips for making your Adaptive UX journey a stellar one.

Tip #1 – Make It Yours Using Stored Views

When navigating the QAD Enterprise Platform, do you find yourself having too much information on the screen that you don’t need? Do you want to move columns around and have QAD remember that position for next time? Try using Stored Views to adjust the screen to your own personal workflow. On a Browse or a Form view, click the cog icon to hide columns and fields that you don’t need.

When you have adjusted the view to suit, click the Stored Views dropdown to save the View for next time! You can save more than one Stored View to suit each of your business flows.

With Stored Views you can also save changes to other elements of the screen, such as:

  • Search Criteria
  • Records per page
  • Location and sizes of grid columns
  • Show or hide fields on a Form
  • Group By settings
  • Load browse records immediately, or set it to prompt for search criteria before loading

Tip #2 – Increase Your Speed with Keyboard Shortcuts

You can use keyboard shortcuts to streamline your data entry. Here are a few of our favorites:

Tip #3 – Drill into Your Data with Contextual Activity, Attachments, Drill Downs and Insights

Do you need to quickly access information for both your header data and your line data?

  • With the Activity panel you can comment on activity in a way similar to how you use social media. The system can track field changes, comments, and attachment uploads for the record.
  • The Attachments panel allows you to attach spreadsheets, Word documents, PDFs and more to a record.
  • Drill-Down Links will quickly take you to any related Browses or links based on the data you are viewing.
  • Insights display relevant charts and graphs to the record so you can base your decisions on up to date analytics.
  • The Messages panel displays Informational and warning messages so that this information is readily accessible without cluttering up your view.

The power of these contextual panels is that they update in real time as you move through the page. When you’re on the header, you’ll see activity, attachments, drill downs and insights related to the header. When you’re working on a line, you’ll see activity, attachments, drill downs and insights for the line. QAD’s Adaptive UX makes it easy to access what you need, when you need it, so you can make informed decisions.

We hope you enjoyed today’s tips on how to really shine when using Adaptive UX. Our new biannual Tips & Tricks blog series is intended to make your Adaptive UX journey a successful one.
