Headquartered in Mumbai, India, the company operates a fully integrated value chain that spans bauxite mining, alumina refining, coal mining, power generation, smelting, rolling, extrusion and foils. With operations across India and a footprint in nine countries, Hindalco ranks among the world’s top aluminum producers.
Hindalco recently established a new manufacturing unit in Pune focused on producing aluminum battery enclosures and other specialized components. As part of this journey, Hindalco turned to QAD, whose experience in automotive manufacturing made it a natural partner to support the company’s new operations.

The Pune facility needed to meet the demanding requirements of automotive customers, including strict expectations for scheduling, traceability and inventory accuracy. This represented a shift from Hindalco’s other business units and brought new operational challenges.

The solution was configured so that during any kind of maintenance window of the primary ERP also the operations will continue through QAD. The Boomi integration in batch mode, meanwhile, ensured Hindalco has a single source of truth for production, backed by enterprise-level visibility through its corporate ERP platform.
