Restrict inventory transfers between two warehouses in the same site

In 2008 SE I want to setup my warehouse so refrigerated and frozen items cannot be accidentally put away in the wrong location. I setup two additional warehouses, one for fridge only and one for freezer items only, along with the third warehouse I already had for all other items. Receipt, put away, picking and shipping all work but transfers between the locations in all 3 warehouses can still happen with an RF scanner and in QAD. How do i restrict movement between the three warehouses?

Depending on which program is triggered by RF scanners you have different options. One of the options might be to give item numbers a attribute "item location type" for chilled or for frozen items. Another would be to restricht transfers between warehouses (warehouse specific). So depending on your actual sitaution you would choose for one or the other.

Not sure with warehousing/ AIM but in standard QAD you have a field on each part under the default location called type (pt_loc_type) and on each location you have a field called type (loc_type).  If you set up three, FREEZE, FRIDGE and GENERAL for example.  Then make sure the location has one of these three on it and then each part can have a coda assigned to it.  This will not allow you to transfer inventory between these different location types.

A co worker of mine mentioned the location type field. Does this work if all items are set up in one warehouse? I tried that and it didnt work. Does it go hand in hand with having multiple warehouses? So whse 1 is fridge only, bins in that warehouse have location type fridge and fridge items in item master maintenance have location type fridg, then that will not allow transferes between two or more warehouses?

Well as I mentioned.  Not sure of the impact on the warehouse module but I would assume it works the same way.  And if that is the case then what you are saying should be correct.
