We met a MRP detail export from 23.16.4 as below, i want to know how to calculate the suggested due date for open PO dvtest line 2.

If I do understand correctly you do want to know what to do with test line 2. Expedite or de-expedite etc. On the other hand you also want to know to which date? If y assumptions are correct you can find the answers in the MRP exception report. This report should tell you what to do whith this order. Try menu 23.7 and it will tell you if you have to move an order in time and to what date. Let me know if this is the answer to your question.

Firstly you are looking at a custom version of the mrp inquiry.

However this report was never intended for the purpose you are asking about.

If you look at 23.6 or 23.7 then you will see if MRP has recommended a new Due Date.  You will NEVER get a suggested date for an actual PO as you have already made the order so MRP will just make an action message telling you to expidite or de-expidite the order.

If you can explain more about what you are trying to do I will be able to give you more details

Yes ,  MRP  make an action message tell me to expedite the PO dvtest Line 2 and suggest me to  advance the due date to 7/17/2018,   I want to know how MRP to calculate the suggested due date and why advance to 7/17/2018 and not 7/16/2018?

The question is simple but the calculations can be quite complex, many factors are taken into account. The date when the inventry "dives" under zero, the purchase lead time, inspections times, and espcecially the MRP start weekday (MRP control file). In fact all the item planning parameters (1.4.7) and some general settings like calendars and mrp control file (23.24) have influence on the calculation. Now this does not help you much but there is no really easy way to understand MRP. The concept is not unique for QAD, it is decided by MRP rules. To understand I would suggest to review some traning manuals and see how the MRP due dates are calculated (page 13). If you have very specific MRP questions you may also visit an MRP forum like this one.

OK the answer is actually quite simple.  You have a Safety LT of 5 days.  In QAD that is actually working days so it equates to 7 calendar days.

MRP will ALWAYS suggest you move existing orders before creating new Orders so if we follow the logic of the action messages it firstly tells you to move Line 1 of the PO to 06/11.  If you did that then you would not go negative again until 07/24. So it wants to pull the second line forward as well to ensure you don't go negative and because you have 7 calendar days Safety LT it means you need to receive it (DUE Date) 7/17.

Thanks for your reply! 

 MRP will ALWAYS suggest you move existing orders before creating new Orders, 

First time Project-Qty-OnHand go negative is 6/19/2018, so MRP suggest us move PO Dvtest Line 1 to 6/18/2018 prior 6/19/2018, 
and the suggest date is 6/11/2018 due to 7 calendars safety time .
And second time Project-Qty-OnHand go negative is 7/24/2018, so MRP suggest us move the second supply PO Dvtest Line 2 to 7/23/2018,
and the suggest date should is 7/16/2018 due to 7 calendars safety time, but it is 7/17/2018. 

i would like to know the why is 7/17/2018 not 7/16/2018. thanks!

Regarding the question, I think Phil answered this, if you take the 24th then thedate is the 17th.Probablythe 23rd is suggested because the 24th of July is a saturday. If you move the supply to the 23rd it may well suggest the 16th. btw, if you want to understand these mechanisms you will have to read & practice. Unless you have a Phil around to help you :-)

Thanks for your help for this topic!

7/24/2018 is not saturday. 

There are two demand in 7/24/2018, and the supply can satify the first demand but can not satify the second, 

so maybe the MRP calculate the suggested due date is start from 7/24/2018, and move  it forward 7 calendar days to 7/17/2018.

Sometimes following dates can be complicated.  Do you have any holidays set up in your calendar for example.

What I would suggest is that you first remove the SLT so you can see the actual calculation for due dates with no interferance.  This should help make it easier to understand.

And then change it to one day and run again.  Repeat this until you get to your back to your 5 working day SLT.

It is complicated because of the caculation to change from work days to calendar days co by doing it one at a time you will see what happens
