For WO's just make sure the status is E, A.  Then go to 16.13.13 and you can change the machine for an operation for just that WO.  Then when you run the release print it will show the new machine.

You can also do this after you have released the WO but then you would need to reprint the WO to show the change.

If you are using 16.19 or the shop floor module you can change the machine during the transaction step.

Thank you Phill. I guess I can write whatever I want to write as machine? Do I need to describe alternative machines on QAD?

Also How we can specify production qty for alternative machines? Do you have any idea?

To answer that I would need to know what your current process is and which programs you use.

For exmple, do you just use 16.10/11 or 16.12 which just record materials

do you then use shop floor to record WIP quantities etc.

Or do you use 16.19 to combine the above two

We use 16.10/16.11 for material and 16.20.1 for Labor Feedback

OK.  So when youu run 16.20.1 you will see in the top frame a field for Machine.  If this machine is in the same WC then just change the machine.  If it is a different w/c then change both.  Also note that you will probably get a warning message in the new W/C belong to a different department code, but you can leave it as is if you want to depends upon how you do your finance.
