I have a need for a field in master data that is at least 12 characters long. We do not use the "Price Break Category" field and I would like to know if we populate that field with data, would it have any detrimental effect elsewhere?
You should be ok as long as you don't use the price break function on price lists. Or if you do you need to ensure that you do not duplicate the field in both your use and price tables. Basically all it does is group items together with the same code to give an additional discount.
Thank you, Phill. We have never used price break categories so I didn't think it would matter. I just didn't want some irrelevant values showing up on price lists or whatever.
