Unless you have some form of status code set up for purchased parts that restrict you, QAD will let you create a Sales Order for any part regadless of if it is a P or M.  Lots of companies buy parts that they sell direct to customers.

Sounds like you have a (sales order) restriction on the Item Status code of the item you wish to sell.

Check on the 1.1 menu and either chose a different item status, remove the restiction on the current item status code, or create a new temporary item status and apply this to the item.

At least this way, you can revert the item afterwards wihtout accidentaly allowing mnay other items to be sold (becuase they have the same status as the one you do wish to sell).
