Upgrade will convert the qxodb "in-place" retaining the history of data already processed through the system.. The webapps are also upgraded and retain the same name/URL after completion. 

The migrate option is another form of an upgrade and allows you to install the latest version QXtend and migrate the configuration from the previous version of QXtend into the new version.
