If sending to an external email address for a user or role subscription - then yes the user needs to be a user defined in QAD and subscribed to the alert (either as a user or part of a role subscription). The email address can be set in the "Email" field on the subscription pages.

 

The system subscriptions work by sending the email to a recipient defined in a field on the business event - e.g. ad_email.

No, it's not connected with the E-mail system in Email Definition Maintenance. It's the field in event definition that contains an email address. For example, ad_email from ad_mstr table. If you want to send Alerts to a customer, you can use this field as Event Email Field.

That is in QXtend. First you define a business object, and create a profile with Type "QAD Alerts". Then you register the profile to a subscriber with Communication Method "QAD Alerts". When you save the subscriber, QXtend will send the event definition to Alerts. Then you can start to define alerts in QAD (using the Alerts menus).

Is there any complete user guide/manual for System Subscription process, how can we receive alert for a specific event through an external email? Is the external email address attached on the event definition? What should I placed on Event Email Field that enables us to receive alert? Sorry I have so many queries regarding this I already tried looking for user guides/manuals but none of them shows the actual process of system subscription only definition of the programs.
