Hello,

we are using QAD Enterprise Applications 2009 SE. Recently we changed some pcs to new windows 10 PRO OS. Win10 officialy dont have internet explored anymore, now its calld Edge. 

Because of that we cant install QAD Enterprise Applications 2009 SE on that PCs. Is it possible somehow to install this on win10 and use it?

Problem Statement:

In July 2015 Microsoft released the Windows 10 operating system and the Edge browser. Some QAD customers have taken action on their own to upgrade to these products without verifying QAD product compatibility and encountered serious problems as a result, including no longer being able to run the .NET User Interface. Compatibility mode also may not work.

Products and Versions Impacted:

QAD .NET User Interface

Windows 10

Edge browser

Description of Conditions and Symptoms:

Currently the QAD .NET User Interface does not support the Windows 10 operating system nor the Edge browser. An updated compatibility statement will be issued with the QAD Applications 2016 EE release early next year.

Now that Windows 10 is generally available, QAD will be further investigating this component combination to better assess the rework needed to address the issues seen with the pre-release versions. QAD is targeting to announce Windows 10 as a client compatibility with the March 2016 EE release.

Please note that the planned 2016 EE target does not include rework that is required to make previous EE and SE versions compatible with Windows 10.

How Can You Avoid This Problem?

Do not run the .NET User Interface on Windows 10 or with the Edge browser. Refer to the QAD Compatibility Guide on the QAD Store to determine valid and certified product and platform combinations.

How Can You Fix This Problem?

Revert to a certified Windows version and Internet Explorer browser.
