Can QXtend integrate directly into SaleForce?

Looking for potential middleware to integrate with SalesForce and was told that QXtend will do it without added middleware.  Is this true?  Looking for users to share their experience with QXtend, is it wowoth it or should I just bite the bullet and purchase a solid middleware like Boomi?

Salesforce.com is a cloud solution so the best integrating strategy is using middleware that can talk to the cloud securely (such as Boomi which is pretty affordable if purchased from QAD) and QXtend. You can use old style SFTP and custom code to do the job (with or without QXtend), but it will be a painful experience for development and maintenance.

Hi Gary,

DELL BOOMI can this be connected to QAD (QAD EE) without QXtend with a database connection and to write the data in a table like usr_wrkfl or some custom table. Further processing we can do it internally in QAD with input from usr_wrkfl table.

I would NOT recommend using Boomi to directly update QAD.  Using QXtend for the both inbound / outbound messaging is still the best strategy and we have done several integration projects to integrate QAD with SFDC or applications built on force.com platform.  QXtend provides the validation and integrity of the transactions and without that process you cannot build near realtime and transaparent integrations.  One of the element of integration I would like to emphasize:  One should design the solution to empower the business so they can handle the exceptions and reprocessing of the data themselves, without IT babysitting.
