QAD Forums 2.0

Post Date: 4/19/23 (Yoda, 1010 Posts) Recent Posts

We are past the middle of the month but I still do not see the new version.  Does anyone have an update on when it will be rolled out?

Re: QAD Forums 2.0

Hello Phill,

I apologise for the delay in releasing the new version. I understand that it's disappointing to wait for updates.

Our team is working hard to ensure that the new version is throughly tested and ready for release.

I'll follow up with the team and provide an update as soon as possible.

Thanks

Gokul.  Please tell me this is not the finished product?  It is so much more difficult to get around and to be honest makes no sense at all.  For example if I go to recent posts, why is it showing me stuff from many years ago?  I can see on some they were modified in the last day which I assume was for testing but it still does not seem to make any sense for example the 5th one down is from 7 years ago with the last response being from Raymond who left the group abut 2-3 years ago.  Also what happened to the number of posts?  I had answered over 1500 times, in fact the only current user with a 5 star rating, but now that number is down to less than a 1000.  TBH this feels more like a step backwards rather than forward

I just want to join Phil's opinion that this version of forum is not step backward, but huge jump backwards.
Sorry Gokul, but does anybody in R&D (or there where app was created) did some tests with real users? Or they just follow new fashion in app design?

Thanks Tomaz.  And it just keeps getting worse !!
I just checked the "Recent Posts" and it shows 6 lines.  And ONLY 6 lines  Even had the page set to display 60.  And some of these are so old that they should be almost  at the bottom of the list.  so does this mean that only 6 tickets have had an update since the "new" version went live?  This is rediculous!!  I used to check every few days to see if there was anything I could help on but now I have no idea if anyone needs any assistance

RE: QAD Forums 2.0

 Hello Phill,

Regarding the number of posts issue (where you reported that you had answered over 1500 times but now the number is less than 1000) this is due to a difference in the way the numbers are counted between the old community site application and the new message boards application. The old community site application looked at all social activity on the site, not only message boards interaction but also looking at including reading and interacting with blogs and wiki pages. Various numbers of points were awarded for these interactions and it was a total of these points that were displayed. The new message boards application simply shows the number of messages created by a user.I hope this explains the difference in the numbers between the 2 sites. I understand its a little confusing but the number of message board posts is accurate in the new message boards application.

Also regarding the sort order of messages in Recent Posts tab, message are sorted in reverse creation date order, meaning messages created recently will be at the top of the list. If someone modifies a message its modified date will be updated and we may see something like this, where the last but one message says it was modified 12 months ago but the last message was modified 2 months ago. It might seem odd but this is because that last message was created before last but one message in the list but the user modified that last message only 2 months ago.
In my opinion the recent posts tab is now working as per the design of the application.

I hope that the answers provided have addressed your queries and helped you gain a better understanding of the topic. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thanks

Sorry but this does not make any sense whatsoever.  If you look below you can see the first one was updated 20 days ago and that is correct but then we have 2 that were last updated 7 years ago before going back to 20 days ago.

I really love helping people and usually check every few days and look for any new comments or any that have been updated to see if I can help.  But that is now totally impossible.  also what is the difference between someone answering the question, which shows as a count next to the note symbal but the feild beneath it shows 0 answers?

RE: QAD Forums 2.0

Hi Phil,

I understand that it might be a bit confusing, but if you check and click on the post that is 7 years old, you will see that it was actually modified 21 days ago. That's why it is showing like this.

I have also brought up this issue to the team regarding the answer label. Once I receive any updates, I will get back to you.

I know you are very active here and have helped many people. Your feedback is highly valuable to us, and we are continuously working on improving the forum to make it easier to use and provide better assistance to our customers.

We kindly request your support.

Thanks
