Method to prevent / correct ATP from entering sales order due dates of week

We are in discrete sales order environment for ATO & MTO products. Using the ATP functionality can result in sales orders with due dates that fall on weekends or holidays. Any suggested method to prevent this?

Thank you for the reply. Yes calendars are set up.
In the past we had received below note from consultants. We are engaging them now in providing a customization to address.

"The calendars are set up correctly, so it appears that the ATP Horizon logic is simplistic in that it doesn't look at the calendar to ensure the date is a working day. I ran a number of tests and it appears to simply select the day after today + the horizon, without regard to the calendar."
