Is there any way to improve on the call and response time?

We are looking to improve on the call and response time to Precision's Restricted Party Screening service.  We note that the call portion typically is under 100 miliseconds, but the response can take up to 800 miliseconds, apparently the lag is due to the fact that the response writes to the database before submitting back to our platform.  Is there any way to record the response to the database after the reponse is sent back to the platform?  Or any other known methods to improve the response time?  We are looking to get under 100 miliseconds for the entire call and response.
